Once you decide to do something and tell someone about it you'll be surprised how the world conspires to help you.

I did a 1 day writing course years back and I off handily told my Dad I attended as I had an interest in writing kids books at the time. Well a month later he sent me a gift for an online writing course that he got on Groupon for next to nothing.

It was a great resource and good example to show if said nothing my Dad would have passed over the course without a second thought.
