What do I need to start a session?
Only one thing, you want to be Coached and have a strong desire to achieve something that is holding you back or you’ve always wanted.
How are sessions run?
All sessions are done via Video calls where possible. Team sessions work best in person on company premises or external location but also work well through video calls.
How long are sessions?
30 minutes free consultation to understand the clients goals and determine if the chemistry is there for a good coaching relationship. The first session is 1.5 hours and sessions thereafter are 1 hour or as outlined in the program.
How many coaching sessions are needed?
This varies per client and their needs. For personal coaching the program works best over a 60-90 day schedule. This is the optimum time to make a lasting change, work around a busy life and get results. This way both client and Coach are bought fully into the process and working for each other to ensure success.
Are Coaching sessions confidential?
All Coaching programs are aligned with the ICF standards of business conduct and ethics. GDPR is also adhered to with details outlined in the coaching agreement form on program commencement. Session information is confidential between coach and client, even within a business coaching context. With business coaching, details of what will be shared or not shared will be agreed upfront in a Tri-party coaching agreement between client, manager and Coach.
How often do sessions occur?
This varies per client and their goals but, not more than once a week and not longer than a month. Typically every 2 -3 weeks is optimum as clients need time to follow up on actions, learn to look at their behaviors and build new habits. Plus life does not stop for coaching and other activities go on as normal.
Whats the process of the session?
At the heart is building trust between Coach and client for open and honest discussion and commitment to each other and the program. This will ensure the right goals get on the table and the coach will use questioning, listening, tools, frameworks etc. to help bring clarity on issues to be solved. Each session usually has goal as an output with realistic tasks agreed focusing on results orientated action for follow up.
What is the difference between a Coach and a Consultant or Counsellor?
Consultants & Mentors bring specific expertise, give solutions, with consultants doing the homework and Mentors usually not.
Counselling deals with issues of the past that are still impacting the client in the present and helping client generate solutions to live a better life with the past.
Coaching deals with the present and working towards a new desired future. The client does the homework with the Coach giving tools and process and sparingly on solutions or advice as the ultimate goal is for the client to build awareness, learning and action memory muscle so the Coach won’t be needed after the program is complete.
