EASED Living

Contrary to the name an EASED Life does not mean we are taking it easy but means we are looking after ourselves in a way that ensures we are fit and able to continuously do great work.

Striving to be balanced or in balance filling our body with the fuel we need so we’re conditioned to do great work should be a lifes habit.

Without a healthy body and mind then we won't sustain our performance with unbridled capacity to work hard over the long term.

Exercise

Life is what happens every day and the most important thing is being able to keep moving. It doesn’t matter what form of exercise you prefer as long as you do it everyday. If you are to stay true to your goals, wants and dreams you must be in good shape.

Are you exercising? If not, are you moving enough each day and busy physically? An Active body = active mind = release of stress and anxiety = positive mindset = goal action = higher probability of successful outcomes.

Exercise should be in your life in some form.

Attitude

How is your Attitude?

Are you positive even in the face of setbacks? Are you giving yourself a break when you get different results than expected? Are you being compassionate with yourself so you can see the learning?

What's your attitude to mental health and how do you deal with stress?

Doing your best is all that counts and if you've done that, and you've given 100%, you can't ask anymore.

Positivity influences your body and mind and is key in helping you progress even when the work is tough and full of setbacks. Every situation is better if you can take away something positive. Great attitude = higher probability of successful outcomes.

Sleep

Are you getting enough Sleep?

The body and mind needs to recharge every night and nothing is more important than sleep. Lack of sleep = lack of concentration = easier to anger = loss of stamina = prone to ill health physically and mentally = loss of performance.

As we make any new change we have to build new routines and form new habits. How is your sleep habit? Do you have a nightly routine to ease into deep peaceful sleep? Great sleep =  higher probability of successful outcomes.

Eat

What are you Eating?

Is your diet balanced including what you drink e.g. water?

Are you fueling your body to work and think clearly, to be active or are you fueling your body to be inactive, tired with inconsistent results? What we eat can impact our mood and our health causing inflammation and bloatedness.

It's important to eat our required nutrients and vitamins regularly and not just once a week. Great food = higher probability of successful outcomes.

Drive

What is Driving you to get up every day?

Is your work purposeful and does it lead to happiness in your life?

Do activities or tasks that give you the most energy exist in your working day and your home/social life?

Without drive backed up with a purpose and aligned to your values, your work is just a series of tasks, challenges or goals that once done can be forgotten and will be forgotten. Versus work that is foundational and always building towards a bigger picture and vision with aggregated growth.

Hence why CEO’s work so hard to drive a vision and purpose for their business, customers and its day to day operations. People find and are attracted to such companies that do this as their values are in tune so making a purpose they can and want to get behind. With great drive = higher probability of successful outcomes.

As you build your objectives or goals for work or personally for next year, will you be writing up your EASED practices too? Will you ensure the fuel you put into your engine will drive great performance? I hope so.
